Mar 13, 2019 | 6:52 AM

KILLAM- On March 6, shortly before 7 p.m., Killam and Viking RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress at an oil field site in Flagstaff County.

Two men were arrested following a search of the area.

A white Dodge Ram pickup was also seized.

Mounties say the arrest would not have been possible without the assistance of three local residents.

Gregory Bader, 41, of Red Deer, faces over 20 charges including break and enter, mischief over $5000, theft over $5000, possessing break-in instruments, and trespassing.

Fernando Barrett, 41, of Grande Prairie, faces charges including break and enter, possessing break-in instruments, and trespassing.

The white Dodge Ram had been the subject of many complaints from January 11 until March 6, for causing damages, stealing fuel and stealing copper wire at four different locations involving oil lease sites.

There was also a fuel theft at a business and an attempted fuel theft at a residence.

The estimated value of damages caused is between $100 000 – $200 000.

Killam RCMP would like to thank the public for actively being on the lookout for this vehicle and suspicious activity over the past two months.

The arrests would not have been possible without all of the public’s tips, calls of suspicious activity and assistance in apprehending them safely.
