Sundre RCMP apprehend gas and vehicle thief

SUNDRE- On Saturday, March 9, RCMP received a report of a man siphoning gas from a vehicle on a private property in Clearwater County.

Mounties arrived on scene and learned the suspect had fled on foot. 

The vehicle he was driving was located nearby and determined to be stolen.

Police Dog Services out of Red Deer were called to assist in the search.  

Officers from Rocky Mountain House and Sundre Detachments contained the area as the suspect was tracked through heavy snow for nearly two hours by Police Dog Services. 

He was located and arrested inside a gas well site in which he had broken into.

Brent William Madill, 40, of Airdrie has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000, Mischief under $5000 (x2), Break and Enter, Theft under $5000 and Causing a Disturbance.
