Mar 12, 2019 | 10:49 AM

This March 24th, 2019 from 2-8 pm, the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery (MAG) is celebrating Métis culture with a musical showcase that will present local and provincial musical artists in “Live at the Krossing – Metis Musician Showcase”. Join them at The Krossing and kick up your heels for some dancing & soulful music entertainment! Tickets on sale now online, at the MAG, and at the Krossing. $25 each if purchased in advance; $30 at the door. All ages welcome. The Krossing is located at 5114 48 St, Red Deer, AB.

Metis musicians of all ages will be representing from Central Alberta, gathering to showcase their talents and share their gifts.  The MAG want to bring their vibrant rhythms, lyrics, and musical styles to a larger audience in Central Alberta. They will do this by sharing the culture and art from the heart one of the most profound aspects of Métis Peoples – the music.  They are inspired by Louis Riel’s famous quote: “My people will sleep for one hundred years, but when they awake, it will be the artists who give them their spirit back”.

“We have a wonderful line-up of musicians, and it promises to be a very lively and enjoyable afternoon for everyone,” says Lorna Johnson, Executive Director of the Red Deer Museum + Art gallery.

The date chosen for this showcase of Metis musical talent is March 24, 2019, and the beautiful 200 seat venue, The Krossing, in downtown Red Deer is the host. Ticket price covers admission into the event. Food/beverages can be ordered through The Krossing’s regular menu.
