Suspects sought in Winfield bank break-in

RCMP are investigating a break-in at a bank in Winfield.

They say the incident occurred at about 3:30 a.m. on March 8 at the Alberta Treasury Branch (ATB).

Suspects gained access to the bank using a stolen picker truck to break through the front wall, police say.

Two male suspects used the truck to pull the safe out of the wall causing extensive damage to the bank.

The suspects made off with the safe and its contents which included an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency.

They used a black Dodge Ram truck and a dark coloured GMC pick-up as getaway vehicles. 

The matter remains under investigation.
