RDC Kings volleyball squad to play for national title at home vs. Fanshawe

The Red Deer College Kings will play in the winner takes all final of the CCAA Men's National Volleyball Championship on Saturday,

The championship finals have been held at RDC's Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre since Wednesday.

The Kings advanced to the final by way of two wins Thursday and Friday. 

First, they defeated the Titans de Limoilou three sets to none, and then knocked off the Vancouver Island University Mariners in three sets 25-23, 25-20 and 26-24.

The wins set up a final on Saturday in which the Kings will take on the Fanshawe Falcons out of London, ON. That match goes at 8 p.m. inside the Harris Centre at Red Deer College.

In Friday's win over VIU, Mark DeWit earned Player of the Game honours by making 11 kills, three stuffs, and one dig with a .304 hitting percentage.

VIU will face the Griffons de l'Outaouais in the bronze final on Saturday at 12 p.m.
