Mar 3, 2019 | 3:10 PM

To give you an idea of how frustrating things are for the Red Deer Rebels right now, Alexander Alexeyev got in a fight during Sunday’s loss to the Saskatoon Blades.

The final score was 1-0 Blades as the Rebels fall to 2-1-1-0 on their four-game road trip through the East Division.

Cyle McNabb got the only goal of the game, his 7th, at 6:37 of the 2nd period.

Alexeyev’s fight against Riley McKay came just a few minutes later.

Ethan Anders made 32 saves and Red Deer went 0/3 on the man advantage. Saskatoon finished 0/4 but outshot Red Deer 33-17.

After the loss, Red Deer sits in the 2nd Eastern Conference wild card spot with six games left on the schedule.

Medicine Hat is one point ahead, and Brandon is two points back. The Wheat Kings visit the Rebels in a four-point game this Friday. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. with the pre-game broadcast starting at 6:30 on 106.7 The Drive.

Red Deer will then close out their 2018-19 regular season schedule with games against Kootenay, Edmonton, Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, and Kootenay again.
