RDC to announce new name

We will find out next week what Red Deer College will be known as once it becomes a university.

A media conference has been scheduled for Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the RDC Arts Centre for what officials are calling “a special announcement about RDC’s new name.”

Red Deer College’s Board of Governors, President & CEO, Joel Ward, City of Red Deer and provincial government officials will be in attendance. The announcement is open to the public.

Premier Rachel Notley announced last March that RDC could pursue becoming a degree-granting university. Before that, RDC had asked the province for degree-granting status three different times over 25 years

Red Deer College first opened its doors in 1964.
