RCMP Report February 21st – 27th

2019-02-21 @ 1:15 P.M. – Vehicle stopped in Rocky Mountain House in which the driver was on a Recognizance to not be in a motor vehicle without the Registered Owner present. The adult male was arrested and charges are pending.

2019-02-22 @ 6:51 A.M. – Theft of a silver Chevrolet Cruze (Alberta licence plate BSZ-9284) which was stolen from a residence in Rocky Mountain House, while warming up in the carport. 

2019-02-22 @ 7:14 A.M. – Suspicious vehicle reported stuck in the snow in Rocky Mountain House. Checks revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Sylvan Lake. The vehicle was towed and the owner was advised.

2019-02-22 @ 8:00 A.M. – Report of a male sleeping near the ATM inside a local RMH bank. Police attended and arrested the intoxicated individual who was released when sober.

2019-02-22 @ 12:24 P.M. – Theft of a licence plate, registration and insurance from a vehicle while parked at a rural residence in Clearwater County.

2019-02-23 @ 1:18 P.M. – While on patrol, police recovered four stolen vehicles at the sewage lagoon on the Sunchild First Nation Reserve. One of the vehicles had been burnt out and will require an examination by the RCMP Auto Theft Section. Vehicles towed and registered owners notified.

2019-02-24 @ 11:27 A.M. – Report of fraud at a local Rocky Mountain House business in which a customer allegedly tried to return an item which was believed to have been stolen. Under investigation.

2019-02-24 @ 12:23 P.M. – While on patrol, police observed an adult male exit a vehicle in Rocky Mountain House. He was a suspended driver and was on prior release conditions. He was arrested and the vehicle was seized for 30 days. Charges are pending.

2019-02-24 @ 2:40 P.M. – Police arrested a male youth during a traffic stop on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve, after he gave a false name. Upon being searched, he was found to be in possession of Crystal Meth. Charges pending 

2019-02-25 @ 6:22 A.M. – Vehicle broken into and documents stolen while parked at local Rocky Mountain House senior’s complex.

2019-02-25 @ 9:29 A.M. – Garage broken into and rifled through in Rocky Mountain House. Nothing found to be stolen

2019-02-25 @ 1:31 P.M. – 2003 white & black Ford F350 (Alberta licence plate CBP-5725) pickup truck was stolen from Rocky Mountain House Hotel in the past two weeks.

2019-02-25 @ 2:32 P.M. – Report of a known shoplifter back in a Rocky Mountain House store after being banned earlier in the day. 

2019-02-26 @ 00:05 A.M. – 911 call of a break and enter and theft from an oilfield construction company located at the intersection of Highway 12 & Secondary Highway 761. Two pickup trucks were stolen and were last seen heading eastbound on Highway 12. One of the stolen trucks was a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 (Alberta licence plate CCK-2188). The culprits had left another pickup truck behind in the compound. It had stolen out of Red Deer the week prior. A short time later, Sylvan Lake RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a Bentley gas station involving the same vehicles, one of which rammed into the building. A 2013 red Chevy Silverado was recovered in Sylvan Lake where the investigation continues. One adult male was arrested in Red Deer

2019-02-26 @ 5:33 P.M. – Report of a break and enter into a garage and vehicle at a residence in Rocky Mountain House. Under investigation

2019-02-26 @ 6:43 P.M. – Food was reported stolen after a break and enter to a residence on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve. 

2019-02-27 @ 00:32 A.M. – While on patrol on Secondary highway 762, an officer observed a white Ford Dually pickup travelling at a high rate of speed toward Rocky Mountain House. When the officer turned around and tried to catch up to the vehicle, it sped up and continued to drive recklessly, failing to stop at multiple traffic control devices and ramming a police cruiser.  After briefly leaving the town limits, the suspect vehicle returned and then became incapacitated in a wooded lot after driving over a rock wall. The adult male driver attempted to flee but was apprehended after a foot chase.  The adult female passenger was apprehended with the assistance of Red Deer Police Dog Services.  The pickup truck had been stolen from Westerose Alberta on February 24th along with two snow mobiles and a side-by-side with snow tracks. Numerous charges laid on both subjects.

2019-02-27 @ 7:30 A.M. – Theft of a silver 2013 Chevrolet K1500 from a residence in Clearwater County.

2019-02-27 @ 11:01 A.M. – Theft of thirty five cubic meters of oil from an oil lease site in Clearwater County. It is believed that a big tractor-trailer unit was driven on the property.

2019-02-27 @ 1:54 P.M. – Report of a suspicious male ringing the door bell and checking other doors on the property in Rocky Mountain House. The subject was last seen carrying the complainant’s shovel.

2019-02-27 @ 2:28 P.M. – Police stopped a vehicle in Rocky Mountain House after a query determined that the licence plate did not match the car.  After stopping the vehicle, the officer discovered that the driver did not have a valid licence. Nor did the vehicle have valid insurance or registration. Violation tickets were subsequently issued.
