Optimist Chiefs fall in first round of playoffs

The season is over for the Red Deer Optimist Chiefs.
They fell 4-2 to the Calgary Royals Tuesday night at the Penhold Multiplex in the fifth and deciding game of their AMHL South Division Quarterfinals series.
Red Deer led 1-0 after the first period on a goal from Daylan Keufler.
The Optimist Chiefs were unable to score the equalizer in the third period before Calgary sealed the deal with an empty net goal with 1:13 left to play.
