BROOKS – RCMP say a 25-year-old man from southeastern Alberta faces nine charges related to child pornography andsexual assault.

Eric Manysiak, who is from Brooks, was arrested Feb. 14 with the help of Brooks RCMP and Medicine Hat police.

Police searched his home and seized his computers and electronic devices.

Manysiak was being investigated after child pornography was uploaded to the internet, but the province’s internet child exploitation unit says they found evidence of possible sexual assaults on a cellphone.

Investigators allege two young boys were sexually assaulted and there could be other victims.

They say Manysiak advertised himself as a provider of respite care services in the Brooks and Medicine Hat areas and they believe he was also involved in community youth programs.

Manysiak is charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, making child pornography, distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography.
