Innisfail bank robbery leads to arrest of two men with stolen truck
A report of a bank robbery this week in Innisfail led to a police chase and the arrest of two men possessing a stolen truck.
It was at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday when Innisfail RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at the ATB Financial on Main Street. A Mountie on patrol observed a stolen tow truck and felt the driver matched the description of the suspect from the bank robbery.
Innisfail RCMP engaged in a coordinated pursuit with the vehicle, utilizing resources from, Blackfalds RCMP, Red Deer RCMP, Innisfail ITU, and Red Deer police dog services. A tire deflation device was deployed and ultimately disabled the vehicle which eventually crashed along 32 Street in Red Deer.
The occupants of the vehicle fled on foot attempting to take another vehicle with force but were unsuccessful and continued to flee police on foot until police dogs successfully tracked them down.
