No injuries in Penhold house fire

PENHOLD- Fire crews were called to a structure fire in a single family house on Windsor Crescent yesterday (Feb. 14) shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Firefighters located the fire in a main floor bedroom and achieved a quick knockdown.

Fire Captain Sean Pendergast says, “ The home’s insulation is cellulose so we had a lot of overhaul to do.”

The occupants had smelled smoke throughout the day, left the home and when they returned, noticed that the snow was melting on the roof and discovered a large black patch inside the bedroom on the ceiling.

The two adults and seven children, who were in the home at the time of the fire, were not hurt.
