Emergency medical chief enters nomination race in UCP Red Deer – South

Feb 13, 2019 | 11:02 AM

Central Alberta’s Chief of Emergency Medicine is seeking the United Conservative Party nomination in Red Deer – South.

“Albertans have always been problem solvers and entrepreneurial in spirit,” Dr. Gary Davidson says in a release.

“Our values are under attack by an ideological NDP that is routinely attempting to undermine the very things that make Alberta that shining beacon of hope on the horizon for so many.

“Jason Kenney’s built a united, conservative alternative options for Albertans in the upcoming election, and I would be honoured to earn the chance to represent the good people of Red Deer South on Jason’s team.”

Dr. Davidson says a sense of duty and public service are leading him to seek the nomination.

He says he looks forward to being part of a UCP government that would scrap the province’s carbon tax, improve healthcare results for all Albertans and address “out-of-control” waitlists, and balance the budget while ensuring frontline workers have the resources they need to deliver valuable public services to Albertans

He also says a UCP government would renew Alberta as the economic engine of Canada, and pursue a pro-growth agenda that will bring jobs back to the province.

“Alberta may be down, but we’re not out. Our province is resilient, and under a United Conservative government led by Jason Kenney, we can bring hope back to Alberta. My name is Gary Davidson, and I’m asking for your support to represent Red Deer South.”

Davidson joins Adele Poratto, Bruce Buruma, Jason Stephan and Norman Wiebe in seeking the UCP nomination for Red Deer – South for the upcoming provincial election.

The deadline for interested candidates to request a nomination package is tomorrow (Feb. 14). Completed applications must be submitted by Feb. 21 at 5 p.m.
