Woman killed in crash east of Drayton Valley

RCMP are investigating a two vehicle collision on Highway 39 and Range Road 53 east of Drayton Valley Monday night.

Mounties say a small car and semi-tractor trailer unit were involved in the crash, adding the adult female driver and lone occupant of the car was pronounced dead on scene while the driver and lone occupant of the truck was not injured.

Traffic in both directions is currently being detoured onto nearby Range Roads to avoid the scene.

Motorists are asked to travel with caution or avoid the area.

Police are expected to release more information today.
