Olds teacher receives Alberta Leader of Distinction award

A teacher at Olds High School is being recognized for her work with students.

Louan Stachuk, has won The Alberta Leader of Distinction for her work with student leadership.

Stachuk has been teaching at Old’s High School since 2008, and was almost immediately a student leadership advisor. She has been involved in organizing has helped organize several student events such as dances, spirit days, Relay for Life, staff appreciation, Just Be Kind campaign, and conferences.

Stachuk was also the person who organized an Alberta Student Leadership conference in 2015. She also served a term as the Alberta Liaison for the National Advisory Council.

She has been involved in student leadership for over 34 years.
