Waste Management Bylaw approved for Drayton Valley

Feb 8, 2019 | 10:29 AM

Residents of Drayton Valley can expect to see an increase in service regarding their waste and recycling collection next month.

Starting March 1, Town officials say a public utility fee for waste management of $19.00 per month will be applied to each residential unit with curbside collection and added to their water and sewer utility accounts.

This, after Town council gave second and third readings to Waste Management Bylaw2019/02/E which establishes a municipal solid waste and recycling collection as a public utility.

Officials say implementing a cost recovery approach to curbside collection enables the Town to increase their level of service and provide for sustainable asset management.
