Parks Canada issues warning after cougar sightings near Banff

Jan 22, 2019 | 6:46 AM

BANFF- Cougars prowling for food around the Banff townsite have triggered a warning from Parks Canada about the big cats.

People are being reminded to travel in groups, make noise, carry bear spray and keep pets on a leash if they’re on foot or cycling in the area.

Parks Canada says people should be extra cautious if they’re outside at dusk and dawn, as that’s when cougars are the most active.

There have been no  reports of any cougar incidents.
