Jan 21, 2019 | 6:56 AM

EDMONTON- Police in Edmonton say their homicide section has taken over the investigation of an injured man who was found outside an apartment complex early yesterday.

Police say there were multiple 911 calls about a disturbance in the south-side neighbourhood.

The man was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.

An autopsy has been scheduled for this afternoon.

The EPS is also investigating the death of a woman following an alleged home invasion.

Officers were called to a home in the city’s northeast Friday night, and found a 56-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman injured.

The woman — who police have identified as Barbara Nelson — didn’t survive, while the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the suspects were gone by the time officers arrived.

They believe it was a targeted incident.
