Drayton Valley RCMP weekly report: Jan. 2 – Jan. 10

January 2

8:16 am – Drayton Valley, 45 Avenue – Theft from vehicle – Complainant reports a male wearing a dark hoodie and jeans broke into their 2018 Nissan Armada.  Glove box gone through, pocket change and 2 sets of head phones for the DVD system taken.

7:52 pm – Drayton Valley, 24 Avenue – Neighbour dispute – Dispute between neighbours.  One party let their dog out, the neighbour proceeded to shine a bright light at the dog.  Members contacted both parties.

January 3

2:35 am – Drayton Valley, 53 Street – theft from vehicle – Complainant reports an alarm going off on a vehicle.  Complainant observed a male and female going through the vehicle and throwing items into a white chevy pick up.  A coat hanger was located at scene, it appears it was used to gain entry into the vehicle.  Unknown what taken.

9:47 am – Drayton Valley, 49 Street – Break and Enter – Report of break and enter sometime over the Christmas break.  Damage to the back and side door.  I-Pad stolen.

11:24 am – Drayton Valley, Greenwood Trailer Park – Theft – complainant reports theft of garbage bin. 

12:30 pm – Drayton Valley – Fraud – Complainant attended detachment to report a fraud.  Complainant had sent  a significant amount of money to a person they met online.  They are now unable to get any money back.

5:47 pm – Drayton Valley, 56 Avenue – Assault – Complainant reporting being assaulted by co worker.  One male arrested and charged.

6:07 – Drayton Valley, Chain Oilfield Services – Theft – Complainant reports theft of fuel gauge from one of the tankers.

8:41 pm – Brazeau County – Uttering Threats – Complainant reporting having received threats from a family member.  Member spoke with both parties.  The comments made do not constitute threats.

January 4

9:47 am – Drayton Valley, 47 Street – unwanted male – Request members attend location, dental office, to remove a male who is causing issues and asking very disturbing questions.  Male had left prior to arrival, patrols completed, male not located. 

12:09 pm – Drayton Valley – Intoxicated person – Cab brought an intoxicated male to the RCMP detachment.  Male transported to hospital by EMS

7:40 pm – Drayton Valley – Lost/Found items – Complainant reports receiving a facebook message advising that some high school documents had been located.  Unknown how the items were obtained.  Complainant wanted to report.

11:04 pm – Drayton Valley, 52 Street – Landlord Tenant Dispute – Complainant reported having threats uttered to them.  Member contacted both parties involved.  Complainant had not paid rent.  Advised that in order to obtain payment they need to go through the proper court process.

11:07 pm – Brazeau County – Dispute – Members called to a dispute between tow people.  Both individuals were impaired.  Argument had been resolved prior to members attendance. 

January 5

1:02 am – Drayton Valley, 50 Street – Impaired Driving – Member on patrol was advised of a possible impaired driver.  Member located vehicle, driver arrested and charged for impaired driving.

1:06 am – Drayton Valley, 46 Avenue – Suspicious person – Complainant reporting 2 males in the alley going through a vehicle.  Member attended, vehicle was secure, no damage.  One male wearing a fluorescent orange hat.  Member patrolled the area with negative results.

3:04 am – Drayton Valley, 47 Street – Family Dispute – Report of a family dispute.  Parties were separated prior to attendance of members.  Complainant was extremely belligerent with members screaming at them and telling them they were incompetent and to go kill themselves.  Members had been provided with the wrong address of 47 Avenue, not 47 Street.  Members attended, all parties were intoxicated.  Statements taken the following day when individuals were sober.

7:58 am – Brazeau county – Suspicious persons – complainant reports observing a male and female by the UFA westbound.  Male is wearing a bright yellow hoodie and the female is wrapped in a blanket. Members attended, and patrolled area, not located.

11:00 am – Drayton Valley, St. Anthony’s Parish – Items found – concerned resident attended detachment to drop off a purse they had found on the street. 

11:20 am – Drayton Valley – Fraud – Complainant reporting fraudulent use of credit card.  Credit cards were not stolen, however were used for 2 purchases on amazon and Walmart.  Cards cancelled and matter is still under investigation.

12:11 pm – Tomahawk – Animal call – Anonymous person called to report that a dog which is tied up may be a lost dog from three months ago. 

12:13 pm – Drayton Valley, Wal Mart – Shoplifting – Complainant reports a male shoplifted a jacket and other items.  Left on a bike towards the Husky gas station. 

1:38 pm – Lodgepole – Break and Enter – Complainant reports a break and enter to their shop.  Crossbow and compound bow taken. Entry made by breaking the window. 

2:41 pm – Brazeau County – Missing dog – Complainant reporting their large german shepard/lab cross has been missing for the past two weeks, thinks it may be stolen.   Their purebred german shepard went missing two years ago. 

4:42 pm – Drayton Valley, Wal Mart – Theft of vehicle – Members were on patrol and observed a male known to police driving a vehicle.  Traffic stop conducted, vehicle found to be stolen.  20 year old Justice Crabbe was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property as well as 4 counts of Failing to comply with probation order and obstructing police officer.   18 year old Seth Johnson was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property.  Both were held for a bail hearing. Johnson was released.

5:53 pm – Drayton Valley, 45 Street – Dispute – Report of a dispute.  Male and female yelling at each other.  Members attended, male had left prior to arrival.  Female provided a false name of the male.  Matter is still under investigation. 

9:09 pm – Drayton Valley, West Wood Hotel – Suspicious persons – Complainant reporting 4 suspicious males outside the door.  Believes they are waiting to steal a vehicle.  Caller was very uncooperative and rude to talk to.  Members attended and no suspicious persons located.

9:56 pm – Drayton Valley, Omniplex – Theft of truck – Complainant reporting theft of their Burgundy 2017 Dodge Half ton stolen between 7:20 pm and 9:00 pm while parked at the Omniplex. 

January 6

1:30 pm – Drayton Valley, Country Style Trailer Court – Damage to property – Complainant reporting their camper-trailer was vandalized sometime over the past weekend. 

4:41 pm – Drayton Valley, Centre Court Trailer Park – Break and Enter – Report of a break and enter in progress.  Members attended and located subject who had broken into their grandmothers residence to get warm.

January 7

7:34 am – Parkland County – Theft of vehicle – Complainant reporting theft of green 2011 Ford F350.  Welder also stolen. 

9:06 am – Parkland County – Theft of vehicle – Complainant reports someone broke off the lock to their shop and stole their 2002 red and silver Ford F350 Super Duty dually with an aluminum deck, a Honda Z-50 mini bike, mastercraft Socket Set, Stihl 170 chain saw and a cutting saddle.  Occurred between 1:00 pm on January 6 and 9 am on January 7.

11:30 am – Drayton Valley, 43 Avenue – Mischief to property – Complainant reporting tracks long the side of two of their parked vehicles.  Vehicles not entered.  Tracks also lead into their neighbours driveway and up to the front door.  Concerned that someone is checking out the residences. 

1:00 pm – Drayton Valley, 44 Avenue – Damage to Property – Complainant reporting someone has shot the front of the house and garage with a pellet gun leaving holes in the siding. 

2:02 pm – Drayton Valley, 53 Avenue – Theft  – Complainant reporting surveillance footage shows a lone male checking out the adjacent property.  Male checked the doors of the building and doors of a parked trailer.  Male returned later and stole some small items outside the building.

January 8

6:33 am – Drayton Valley, Value Drug Mart Parking Lot – Damage to vehicle – Complainant reporting someone broke the passenger window on their 2017 White Freightliner truck.  Occurred sometime overnight.

11:08 am – Drayton Valley, Century 21 – Break and Enter to Shed – Complainant reporting a break and enter into a back shed.  Nothing missing. 

4:20 pm – Drayton Valley, HW Pickup School – Theft of cell phone – Complainant reporting theft of Iphone 6.

January 9

12:03 am – Drayton Valley, 45 Street – Disturbance – Complainant requesting members attend residence to remove unwanted male.  Members attended, male had left prior to arrival. 

10:42 am – Drayton  Valley, Matador Motel – Abandoned vehicle – Complainant reporting a maroon Chevrolet has been abandoned in their parking lot.  Member attended and queried vehicle, not stolen.

10:57 am – Drayton Valley, 54 Street – Hit and Run – Complainant reporting someone clipped their parked vehicle drivers side mirror causing damage.  A neighbour advised that the suspect vehicle is a  dark coloured SUV which was being driven by a female.

12:25 pm – Tomahawk – Break and Enter – Complainant reporting a break and enter to the Parkland County transfer station.

2:47 pm – Drayton Valley, Industrial Road – Break and enter to shed – Complainant reporting a break and enter to a shed on the property of the old Greenhouse.

5:28 pm – Drayton Valley, 52 Avenue – Theft of truck – Complainant reporting that they parked their black 2013 F150 on the street 2 days ago, when they returned the vehicle was gone. 

7:49 pm – Drayton Valley, Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – Theft of phone – Complainant reporting loaning their phone to someone.  When they asked for it back, the person refused to give it back. 

January 10

1:22 am – Drayton Valley, Derrick Lounge – Damage to Property – Male was refused service due to level of intoxication.  Suspect entered the bathroom and began damaging it, ripping the urinal off the wall.  Members attended and arrested male, who was escorted to Drayton Valley RCMP detachment where they spent the night in cells until sober.

3:14 am – Drayton Valley – threats – Complainant reports receiving threats.  Matter still under investigation.
