Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools receives $27,500 wellness grant

RED DEER- Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools has received a $27,500 grant from the Alberta Healthy School Community Wellness Fund through the University of Alberta that will go towards staff wellness and building intentional relationships.

“We are excited about the new and positive opportunities this grant will create for our staff, and student,” said Health and Wellness Coordinator, Char Andrew.

“Our hope is that this grant will provide staff with support for health and wellness. This year we want to help intentionally build connections amongst people whether it’s staff to staff or staff to student. We want to help build and foster positive relationships.”

Andrew has supported the health and wellness of staff by offering a variety of fitness classes, sessions on nutrition, mindfulness and self-care.

She also supports the health and wellness of students throughout the school division.
