With the creation of the 2A South Regional Transit route connecting the communities of Innisfail, Penhold and Springbrook, the former transit route into Springbrook and Gasoline Alley will be changing.

The new transit service for Gasoline Alley (Route 12) will NOT enter Springbrook, as that location will shift to the 2A South Regional route. This change will make the route approximately 30 minutes in duration from Bower Mall to the turnaround point in Gasoline Alley and back.

Route 12 service will run Monday to Saturday from 6:30 AM to 10:55 PM. It will also run on Sundays and statutory holidays from 9:00 AM to 6:25 PM. This marks an increase in service for the route compared to the previous schedule.

Red Deer County Community Services Manager Jo-Ann Symington remarked, “We are excited to bring new transit options to our residents. These changes mark a major improvement in the overall service level of our transit. We are getting people to more destinations in a more efficient manner.”

For more information on the adjusted route, please go to the Red Deer Transit web pages on the City of Red Deer website and look up Routes and Schedules.
