Rebels a pleasant surprise this season

So far, so good for the Red Deer Rebels this season.

The Rebels find themselves in first place in the WHL Central Division with 42 points. Lethbridge and Edmonton also have 42 points but have each played more games than the Rebels.

The team has received solid goaltending and reliable defensive play, both were expected coming into the year. They’ve also, to the surprise of many, been scoring goals at a solid rate led by a top-notch line of veterans.

The Rebels return to action Friday, Dec. 28 when they host the B.C. Division leading Vancouver Giants at the Enmax Centrium. The Edmonton Oil Kings come calling the following night. Both games begin at 7 p.m. (106.7 THE DRIVE)
