Drayton Valley weekly RCMP report: Dec. 14 – Dec. 20

December 14

8:00 am – Brazeau County, Hwy 39 – Erratic Driver – Complainant attended Detachment to report an erratic driver in a tan colored Dodge with a red tidy tank in the box.  Driver was driving aggressively, tail gating and passing on solid lines.  Almost forced the complainant into the ditch.  A licence plate was obtained, however queries of the licence plate provided did not match the vehicle.

11:10 am – Lodgepole – Assault – Report of an assault with a phone.  Family dispute.  Members attended and separated parties involved.

11:42 am – Drayton Valley, Wal Mart – Shoplifting – Report of theft of electronic items.  Suspects identified.

3:25 pm – Drayton Valley, Jocelyn’s Independent Grocery Store – Shoplifting – Report of shoplifting.  Video surveillance provided.

3:41 pm – Drayton Valley, Jocelyn’s Independent Grocery Store – Shoplifting – Report of a man and a woman stole approximately $200 worth of beef.  Video surveillance provided

4:09 pm – Brazeau County, RR 73  – Theft from mail – Report of theft from mail.  Mail boxes have been broken into and 5 compartments are open.  Canada post advised.

7:01 pm – Drayton Valley, Econo Rest – Theft of vehicle – Report of theft of 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander. 

6:56 pm – Drayton Valley, 7-11 – Theft – Complainant reports that they accidentally left their wallet on top of their vehicle.  After leaving someone picked up their wallet and spent $200 inside the 7-11 on their debit card through tap. 

December 15

3:18 am – Drayton Valley, 50 Street – Impaired Driving – Members on patrol initiated a traffic stop.  Driver was arrested for impaired driving.

5:05 am – Brazeau County, Hwy 620 – Abandoned vehicle – Report of an abandoned farm tractor in the south ditch.  Member attended, owner not located.  Tractor towed to DV Towing,

6:14 am – Drayton Valley, Greenwood Trailer Court – Unwanted male – Complainant requested members attend location to remove an unwanted intoxicated male.  Members attended and upon arrival was advised that the male had left.  Members on patrol observed the male and arrested them for being intoxicated in public and assault as he had pushed the victim into their house after knocking on the door.

7:53 am – Drayton Valley, 50 Avenue – Abandoned vehicle- Report of a small black car with no licence plate arrived at their location between 2am and 6 am.  Member attended location, however vehicle was gone upon arrival.  Patrols made, however vehicle not located.

10:22 am – Drayton Valley, 49 Avenue – Theft from vehicle – Report of theft from truck sometime overnight.  Tools, polishers and assorted items taken.  Side passenger window broken to gain access.

5:09 pm – Brazeau County, Hwy 22 – Mischief – Complainant reports that a 4 door auto with a black stripe over the rear wheels followed them from the poplar ridge trailer court.  An occupant in the vehicle shone a laser into the complainants rear view mirror blinding them while they were driving.  Licence plate obtained.

December 16

3:27 am – Drayton Valley, Fas Gas – Drug possession – Members on patrol located a vehicle associated with a person they were aware was arrestable for breaching conditions.  Upon search of individual, Methamphetamine and cocaine were located along with a substantial amount of cash.  

10:51 am – Lodgepole – Uttering Threats – Complainant advised that their ex called and texted them today uttering threats to destroy property. 

1:03 PM – Drayton Valley, Westview manor – Break and Enter – Report of a break and enter to residence.  Stolen items include X BOX 1, X BOX 360, cell phone and games.  Suspects entered through sliding door.  Suspects  identified.    

4:53 pm – Drayton Valley, 50 Street Petro Canada – Break and Enter – Report of break and enter to trailer.  Suspects entered through the door and stole tools and equipment, banquette tables and chairs. 

7:45 pm – Drayton Valley, 50 Street – Impaired Driver – Report of a possible impaired driver driving a black audi.  Driving all over the road.  Members located vehicle and driver who was acting erratically and displayed signs of drug impairment.  Driver arrested and issued a 24 hour suspension. 

December 17

9:15 am – Drayton Valley, 56A Street – Theft from trailer – Report of theft of 2- 30 lb propane tanks off a holiday trailer.  

9:47 am – Drayton Valley, 48 Avenue  – Theft of garbage can – Report of theft of rolling outdoor garbage bin.

11:22 am – Brazeau County, RR 82 – Theft – complainant reporting theft of several items from their barn.  Stolen items include a Ghost Lawn XS Bike with black and purple decals, a Chariot cougar 2 Stroller/Jogger with trailer kit attachment, wheels and 2 child harnesses.

12:11 pm – Drayton Valley Hospital – Harassing Communications – complainant reporting harassing calls from a person they haven’t spoken to in many years.  Person lives in Fredericton New Brunswick.

2:16 pm – Lodgepole – Criminal Harassment – Complainant reporting their ex-boyfriend keeps driving by their residence.  Ongoing issue

3:24 pm – Drayton Valley, Sekura Parking lot – Lost keys – Complainant reporting they lost their key fob and door key during an auction in the yard.  Fob is oval and door key is large, silver and has GM on it.

3:41 pm – Drayton Valley, 44 Avenue – Suspicious person – Complainant reporting a male wearing a full face mask on a bike has been hanging around.  Observed several times over the past couple of days. 

4:59 pm – Drayton Valley, UFA parking lot – Disturbance – Complainant reporting a female is soliciting signatures for the “homeless” situation.  This person is becoming increasingly aggressive with customers.  Members attended

December 18

2:52 am – Drayton Valley, 7-11 – Shoplifting – Report of female stole $50 worth of food and drinks.  Female described as approximately 25 years old with a white jacket and carrying a purse.  Members patrolled the area with negative results.

1:45 pm – Drayton Valley, Computer Solutions – shoplifting – Complainant reporting that a male approximately 35 years old wearing a black cap, grey hoodie, grey trousers and black shoes stole a laptop.  Left on foot in the back towards the gas station.  

2:41 pm – Drayton Valley, 44 Avenue – Loud noise – Several reports were received regarding a possible shotgun blast in the area near the hospital.  Members attended area and located an individual who had been setting off a toy that fires flare type cartridges. 

2:56 pm – Drayton Valley, 54 Avenue – Suspicious person – Report of a male with short blond hair, black jacket and grey sweat pants on a bike luring by garages and vehicles in the back alley. Member conducted patrols, individual matching description not located.

8:41 pm – Drayton Valley, Scotia Bank Parking Lot – Assault – Complainant reporting that someone is chasing them around the parking lot.  Complainant advised that they had ripped off a licence plate from the person who was chasing them

December 19

8:53 am – Drayton Valley, 50 Street – Theft from vehicle – complainant reporting the passenger window on their blue Pontiac Aztec was broken.  A jacket was taken from the vehicle.

9:55 am – Drayton Valley, Drayton Manor parking lot – Theft from vehicle – Complainant reports someone broke the passenger door window on their 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac.  Vehicle registration, insurance and flashlight were stolen.

12:04 pm – Drayton Valley, 53 Avenue – Theft from vehicle – Report of a vehicle parked at location was found with the drivers front door open.  Vehicle was in a fenced compound.  Battery cables had been cut.  Several small items were stolen from vehicle. 

4:57 pm – Drayton Valley – Possession for purpose of trafficking – Members located youth arrestable on a shoplifting charge.  During search, several grams of methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia was located.  

December 20

4:13 am – Drayton Valley, Drayton Valley Hotel – Disturbance – Request members attend hotel to remove unwanted male who is banging on a door and fighting.  Members attended, male had left, patrols conducted male not located.
