City managers, non-union staff get small pay increase

Dec 11, 2018 | 11:55 AM

Exempt staff will see a 1 per cent increase in their salary, effective January 1, 2018, after city council approved the adjustment at Monday’s meeting.

The increase affects approximately 157 exempt employees, a group that includes directors, managers, superintendents, supervisors, professionals and specialists.

“This increase balances the need to attract and retain qualified management and supervisory staff while acknowledging our current economic reality,” said Kristy Svoboda, Director of Human Resources. “Adjusting salaries on an annual basis ensures we can remain competitive with other municipalities and organizations to be able to attract required management skills.”
