Dec 10, 2018 | 1:49 PM

Jury selection took place Monday morning for the trial of a Delburne man accused of causing a fatal collision in 2016.

Daniel Wayne Newsham, who turns 47 on Wednesday, is charged with manslaughter in relation to the crash that occurred on August 14, 2016.

Three Hills RCMP had been alerted at about 11:30 that night of a suspicious Dodge Dakota that drove onto a rural property near Delburne and got stuck. The driver then reportedly took a Ford F150 from the property before fleeing.

RCMP allege Newsham followed the Ford to Highway 42 and Range Road 240, where his vehicle and the Ford collided, causing it to rollover.
