UCP delays Red Deer-South vote for “high profile individual”

Dec 9, 2018 | 2:29 PM

It’ll be a while before United Conservative Party members in Red Deer-South choose their candidate for the next provincial election.

The nomination vote is being delayed in order to accommodate a “high profile individual” who is planning to run.

Details of the decision were outlined to the board of the constituency association in a letter from the UCP’s executive director Janice Harrington, and reported on over the weekend by CBC News.

Several names have already entered the party’s nomination in the riding, including Adele Poratto, Bruce Buruma, Jason Stephan and Norman Wiebe.
