Bast to play at World Junior A Hockey Challenge

Red Deer’s Luke Bast will compete at the 2018 World Junior A Hockey Challenge.

The defenceman for the Brooks Bandits has made the roster for Team West following selection camp this week in Calgary.

This season the 18-year-old has 20 points in 22 games in the AJHL with the Bandits. He had 31 points in 57 games with the Bandits last season.

The former Red Deer Optimist Chief has committed to the University of North Dakota starting in 2019-20.

Bonnyville is hosting the 2018 World Junior A Hockey Challenge from Dec. 9 – 16. The tournament is a partnership between Hockey Canada, the AJHL and the CJHL, as well as NHL Central Scouting.
