Blackfalds to get new Alberta Registries office

The town of Blackfalds is applying to bring an Alberta Registries Service office to the community.
Town officials say the office will be located inside the Town office at the Blackfalds Civic Centre and is scheduled to open next spring.
“Blackfalds has been lobbying to have a registries office in our community for many years. This initiative is proactive because it will allow a Registry service to be available in our community a lot sooner than traditional methods would,” says Mayor Richard Poole. “It is exciting because this approach, endorsed by council, will see our staff provide another important service to our community using an innovative and cost-effective model.”
Once the Town has operated the Registries office for a period of time, how to continue the service in the long term will be re-evaluated. Such a move would include transition to the private sector.
