The Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre in Red Deer was recently recognized for its leadership in preventing family violence, sexual violence, child abuse and bullying.

A total of 25 Inspiration Awards were presented by Community and Social Services Minister Irfan Sabir on November 23 in Edmonton to individuals and organizations that have gone above and beyond to prevent violence in their communities.

“This year’s Inspiration Award winners come from different walks of life, but all share a common goal,” Sabir said. “These Albertans work day in and day out to transform lives, promote healthy relationships and prevent violence. I want to congratulate all 25 Inspiration Award winners and thank these Albertans for the important work they do to make our province a better place to live.”

The 2018 Inspiration Award winners include social workers, academics, youth and those who support newcomers to Alberta.
