Hartung, Silvenagle rinks win Red Deer Curling Classic

Following some extra-curricular activities that drew national and international attention over the weekend, Monday was championship day at the 2018 Red Deer Curling Classic.

Kody Hartung and his Saskatchewan-based rink edged last year’s winner, and reigning provincial champion, Brendan Bottcher 7-6 to claim the men’s division title.

It was Hartung’s rink that was taking on Jamie Koe’s team Saturday when the latter foursome was kicked out of the tournament for drunken behaviour.

Hartung, third Tyler Hartung, second Jayden Shwaga and lead Mark Larsen claimed a cool $10,000 for their efforts this weekend at the Pidherney Centre.
