Fencing Club members win medals in Edmonton

Red Deer Fencing Club members brought home six medals from the Jujie Luan Open 2018 in Edmonton over the weekend.

Kameron Lamont was a triple medalist winning gold in under-17 women’s epee and under-20 Women’s epee. She finished the weekend taking a silver in the senior women’s event with a close match ending 14-15.

Karen Lyver won gold in veteran’s women epee and finished 8th in senior women’s epee. Michelle Ostrikoff won a bronze in the veteran’s women’s epee.

Robert Forsstrom took bronze in the veteran’s men’s epee, after an exciting semi-final match that went to overtime finishing with a score of 8-9.

After a great weekend the Red Deer Fencing Club is looking forward to the next tournament the Priori Fall Cup to be held in Calgary in December.
