The City of Lacombe has announced Deborah Juch as its new Director of Community Services, effective November 1.

“We are convinced that Deborah is a great choice for this critical position, given her considerable municipal experience and her passion for community development,” said Chief Administrative Officer Matthew Goudy. “We believe she will fit into our organization with minimal disruption to ongoing initiatives, and look forward to working with her as we work to achieve Council’s strategic vision.”

Deborah Juch has 15 years of municipal government experience in BC and Alberta.

Prior to her new role at the City of Lacombe, Deborah Juch served as the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for the Municipal District (MD) of Opportunity No. 17 in northern Alberta, overseeing the senior managers of facility maintenance, recreation and community services as well as economic development and other services. Earlier, she managed protective services and human resources at MD 17.

“I am delighted to relocate to central Alberta, to such a vibrant and historic community,” said Deborah. “I hope to live up to Administration and Council’s expectations, to carry on and enhance the excellent programs and services already in place.”

Deborah has a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree supplemented by a Local Government Administration Certificate and other professional development. She is currently studying for a Masters of Business Administration in Community Economic Development, as well as local government leadership and community sustainability. She also brings emergency management training and experience to the position.

Deborah and her family, including her mini dachshunds, are excited to join us in Lacombe.
