Nov 5, 2018 | 9:31 AM

Remembrance Day ceremonies are happening throughout the week and on Sunday to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Ceremonies and events begin Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 5 & 6 which is when most schools will hold assemblies.

The largest will be at Lindsay Thurber High School starting at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

Other schools holding special ceremonies include Father Henri Voisin School whose students will attend Alto Reste Cemetery in Red Deer on Tuesday for a service at 10 a.m.

Sylvan Lake’s Ecole Mother Teresa School will do the same at Lakeview Cemetery at 1:30. Both of these services are part of the No Stone Left Alone initiative.

On Sunday in Red Deer, there are two public services being held, one of which will be at Servus Arena starting at 10:30 a.m. A hearing loop system will be in place for individuals to access auditory assistance.

The Korean War Veterans’ Association is also holding a service at Veterans’ Park (49 Ave. and Ross St.) downtown. It also begins at 10:30. Parking is available at the Sorensen Station Parkade, on surface lots, or on-street parking, which is free on Sunday.
