Pedestrian hit by truck near Bower Place

An 82-year-old man is believed to be okay after he was hit by a truck early Monday afternoon near Bower Place Shopping Centre.

RCMP confirm that around 12:15 p.m. a Ford truck hit the man close to Bennett Street and Gaetz Avenue. One witness tells rdnewsNOW it occurred in the south entrance to the mall parking lot.

The man was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

No charges are being laid. RCMP say the driver of the truck remained on scene as EMS tended to the man. Preliminary investigation shows the truck driver was not at fault.
