INNISFAIL- The Accountability Pillar report from Alberta Education shows numerous ‘Very High’ and ‘Excellent’ results in the Chinook’s Edge School Division.

The annual results report is comprised of both student achievement data and student/parent/staff satisfaction results.

The report shows an all-time high for Chinook’s Edge in a number of measures, including high school completion and transition to post-secondary rates which is a focused priority in the division.

“Eighty-three percent of our students are graduating within three years, and we’re graduating more students than ever before,” said Associate Superintendent of System Services, Karyn Barber. “Our drop-out rate is lower and our transition to post-secondary rates are higher, demonstrating that schools are ensuring our students are engaged in their high school experience.”

Chinook’s Edge is also above provincial average in the Acceptable Standard for both Diploma Exams and Provincial Achievement tests.

“This Accountability Pillar report is a testament to the hard work and clear priorities of our entire Chinook’s Edge team,” said Superintendent Kurt Sacher. “Everyone in our schools shares a commitment to each of our students and has a collective responsibility to ensure their success.”

Chinook’s Edge has identified four divisional strategic goals for student success: literacy, academic achievement, career connections and social emotional learning.
