QE2 fully reopened after gravel truck rollover

RED DEER- RCMP, fire crews and emergency services were called to a gravel truck rollover on the QE2 just north of the 32 Street overpass around 12 a.m.

The northbound lanes were blocked and traffic was re-routed onto 32 St. It took about five hours to clear the crash scene.

The gravel truck was from a nearby construction site and was loaded with dirt and gravel which spilled onto the highway. No other vehicles were involved.

The driver, and lone occupant of the truck, suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the roll over has not yet been determined.
