Drayton Valley RCMP have released the latest crime report for the week of October 4-10.

Here are some of the highlights:

Shortly after 11 p.m. on Oct. 5, police were notified of a vehicle driving on the football field at Frank Maddock High School. Members patrolled the area, but the vehicle had left.

At about 9:40 the morning of Oct. 6, RCMP received a report of a break and enter at Goldies Chicken. Investigators found the back door had been pried open and that the cash register was stolen. It was located later in the back alley with money still inside.

On Oct. 7 at 6 p.m., Mounties responded to 47 Avenue where there was reportedly a blue Can Am quad driving up and down the road. The male driver was wearing an orange jacket and could not be located by members.

Just prior to noon on Oct. 8, RCMP received a report of a hit and run in the parking lot of Tim Horton’s. It’s alleged that a 2009 silver Pontiac G6 was struck by an older light grey Ford pick-up truck with a steel box in the back. The truck driver did not stop and drove away.

That same day around 6 p.m., police recovered a stolen Dodge truck behind the AHS building. It was stolen out of Red Deer.

At 5:50 p.m. on Oct. 9, RCMP received an animal-related call, one of several they say they’ve gotten recently regarding cattle being out of the fenced property. The issue is reoccurring on Hwy 621 near RR92. Members have had to attend several times to herd cattle back onto the property so as to prevent collisions.

Finally, members received a report of a theft of a Jasmine electric guitar from a residence or building on 53 Avenue. That call came in around 6:40 p.m. Police say they have identified a possible suspect.
