National Torch Relay for 2019 Games launches Thursday in Ottawa

The 2019 Canada Winter Games is celebrating the launch of the first ever national MNP Canada Games Torch Relay.

The 48-stop torch relay travels across Canada, beginning with the lighting of the Roly McLenahan Canada Games Torch in Ottawa on Parliament Hill on Thursday, October 4.

Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport, will deliver remarks and will be joined by Canada Winter Games Honorary Board Chairs Ron and Cari MacLean and emcees Catriona Le May Doan Olympic champion) and Chris Phillips (former NHL player).
