Sep 30, 2018 | 7:32 PM

It was a frosty weekend out at Alberta Springs golf course near Red Deer for the ACAC golf championships.

Action on day two was delayed by 90 minutes, in fact, due to frost which had developed overnight.

Going into Sunday, RDC King Chase Broderson shared the lead at +1 with Michael Harrison of the U of A Augustana Vikings.

At the end of the day, Broderson couldn’t keep pace, but walked away with a very respectable second and finishing at +7. Harrison scraped a -1 performance on the day to win the title at even-par.

The RDC Kings team finished in a tie for second with Concordia, both of whom were 25 strokes behind the team competition winner MacEwan.

Other Kings to compete over the weekend were Logan Hill who finished +10 and T-6th, Darin Bertschi was +13 and finished 10th, Landon Kletke finished T-23rd, Trey Brandt finished 28th, Gaige Weseen finished 29th, Robert LaBuick finished 40th and Logan Crawford finished 42nd in the 46-golfer field.

On the women’s side, RDC Queen Shaye Leidenius found her way to a third place result and a +23 score. The winner, Becky Martin from Medicine Hat College shot a +6.

RDC’s Chloe Sies finished 4th at +25, Bradie Ouellette-Pillman was +28, good enough for 5th, Paige Tichkowsky finished in 9th and Stephanie Huising finished 17th out of 20 golfers.

The RDC Queens earned a silver in the team competition, barely missing out on gold two strokes back of Medicine Hat.

RDC also earned gold in the mixed-team competition.

Additionally, RDC Golf coach Scott Bergdahl was named ACAC golf coach of the year.
