A man who crashed his truck into a popular Red Deer pizza joint earlier this year has pleaded guilty

David Amstutz, 32, turned himself in to RCMP a day after the Feb. 1 incident in which a truck backed straight into Papa Baldy’s Pizza in West Park. One female employee sustained minor injuries. At least two others were in or near the restaurant at the time.

Amstutz pleaded guilty in Red Deer provincial court last week to one count of failing to remain at the scene of an accident in which a person was injured.

The restaurant suffered extensive damage and was closed for several weeks
