Free entry to historical sites and museums during Alberta Culture Days

EDMONTON- All provincial historic sites and museums that are open will offer free admission as well as family-friendly activities during Alberta Culture Days from Sept. 28 to 30.

Minister of Culture and Tourism, Ricardo Miranda, explained the decision to offer free admission during Alberta Culture Days.

“It’s another way to give people the chance to discover our province’s rich arts, history, diversity and heritage,” he continued. “The arts and cultural sector is a significant economic driver supporting local businesses, creating jobs and helping to make life better for Albertans.”

The following sites and museums are open for Alberta Culture Days activities:
–    Frank Slide Interpretive Centre (Crowsnest Pass) 
–    Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump (Fort MacLeod) 
–    Lougheed House Provincial Historic Site (Calgary) 
–    Oil Sands Discovery Centre (Fort McMurray) 
–    Provincial Archives of Alberta (Edmonton) 
–    Reynolds-Alberta Museum (Wetaskiwin) 
–    Remington Carriage Museum (Cardston) 
–    Royal Tyrrell Museum (Drumheller) 
–    Rutherford House (Edmonton)

Culture Days is Alberta’s largest celebration of arts, heritage, diversity and community spirit.

Communities across the province will celebrate by holding hundreds of free, interactive events and activities, offering something for everyone. 

Alberta Culture Days are part of National Culture Days, which includes more than 800 communities from coast to coast and helps increase Canadians’ awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement in the arts and cultural life of their communities.
