Alberta High School Football week 4 power rankings

Another week means new power rankings for high school football and several local teams made the cut.

The Football Alberta Tier 1 rankings have Red Deer’s Lindsay Thurber Raiders at #8 after a 44-8 win over Lacombe on Friday.

Thurber, which is now 3-0, didn’t move up or down the rankings and face Hunting Hills in week four.

The Tier 2 Hunting Hill Lightning are also coming off a win on Friday which many dubbed the ‘Snow Bowl.’ The Lightning topped the Notre Dame Cougars 30-14 and sit #9 in the power rankings, up from #10 last week.

The Tier 3 rankings feature 2-1 Sylvan Lake at #6, a fall from #3 after losing to Tier 4 Stettler 20-7.

Up next for Sylvan Lake is a week four tilt against Camrose.

Drayton Valley’s Frank Maddock High School is #10 in the Tier 3 rankings after defeating Camrose 28-7. They have a bye next week.

In the Tier 4 rankings, Stettler is at #2 while Ponoka sits at #9 after a 43-14 win over Wetaskiwin. Ponoka did not rank last week and are now 2-1 on the season.

In the 6-man power rankings, Breton is at #1 after a 72-70 win over J.C. Charyk.

Rimbey is at #3 after defeating Millwoods Christian 36-26 and Caroline (0-2) sits in the #6 spot following a34-26 loss to St. Joseph’s from Brooks.
