Ron Orr secures 2019 UCP nomination for Lacombe-Ponoka

Ron Orr has been chosen as the United Conservative Party’s nominee for next year’s provincial election in the constituency of Lacombe-Ponoka.

Orr has served as MLA since 2015 when he was elected as a member of the now defunct Wildrose Party.

Party leader Jason Kenney issued a statement Friday evening on Orr’s successful nomination:

“Ron has served his constituents with skill and integrity. As the United Conservative Caucus’ Culture and Tourism Critic, Ron has been an effective advocate for Alberta as a premiere tourist destination and successfully held this government to account on both the culture and tourism files. I am pleased to know that Ron will continue to be a part of our United Conservative team.”

Kenney also thanks current Lacombe city councillor Thalia Hibbs for participating in the race.
