Drayton Valley RCMP Weekly Report: Sept. 13-20

September 13

Just before 9 a.m. on Sept. 13 RCMP were called for a report that a fuel card was stolen from a vehicle at the UFA parking lot the previous week.  Approximately $4000 worth of fuel has been obtained by using the stolen fuel card. The matter is still under investigation.

Shortly after 11 a.m. that day, police received two reports of shoplifting from the Drayton Valley Wal Mart. In one case, police say a male parked their camper in the fire lane and came into the store, took off their old shoes and put them on the shelf then walked out with new pair of shoes. The second incident involved a female who entered the store, put on a new pair of shoes then paid for some cereal, then left without paying for the shoes. 

September 14

Police were called at 8:10 p.m. for a report of suspicious males going into yards along 43 Avenue.  One male was reported intoxicated holding a beer can, wearing a black hoodie and jeans. 

Less than an hour later, Mounties received a report of an intoxicated male on 52 Street wearing a work jacket with no shirt and pyjama pants.  The man had stumbled into complainant’s yard and threw up.  Members patrolled the area and located the male. 

At 9:23 p.m. Mounties received a complaint of a hit and run at the Drayton Valley Wal Mart. The complainant reported that they had parked their 2010 Black Chrysler 300 while they went into the store.  When they returned approximately half hour later, noted that drivers fender had been hit.

September 15

Police received a report at 12:17 a.m. of a possible intoxicated driver weaving in and out of traffic on Highway 22 in Brazeau County.  Shortly after, the vehicle hit the ditch and the male driver was ejected.  He was taken to Drayton Valley hospital with undetermined injuries. 

Just after 1:30 p.m., officers attended to a report of trespassers on property in Parkland County and located a vehicle stuck in the mud.  Two males, including 30-year-old Faron Olson and another male, were arrested.

At 5:09 p.m. there was a report of a male attempting to break into Landvac Services. Members located a male suspect who was with a female, both subjects arrested and a quantity of drugs and prohibited weapon were located. 

Drayton Valley RCMP attended the Pleasantview Trailer Court just before 6:30 p.m. for a disturbance. Members attended and broke up a verbal argument. One male was arrested on outstanding unrelated warrant.

September 17

It was at 7:20 a.m. that Mounties were called regarding a break and enter at Valley Fleet on 50 Ave. The ignition had been punched on a 2003 F350, the door handle and passenger window were also broken.

At 8:15 a.m. police received a report that someone over the past two weeks entered an unlocked lease site in Brazeau County and broke into the building, damaging some items and stealing a significant amount of copper ground wire.

At 3:07 p.m. RCMP were called regarding an intoxicated person on 50 Avenue. The report said a suspicious female kept coming to the complainant’s residence looking for a male.  They were continually told her the male doesn’t live there.  Members attended and arrested one female who was held until sober.

September 18

Police were called at 5:17 a.m. by a complainant from Poplar Ridge who said they heard a truck pull up and a person was walking up to a vehicle and walking around it. They yelled at them, police say, then the person left.  The suspect was reported to be wearing a dark hoody. 

At 12:22 p.m. – RCMP received a call from the Town of Drayton Valley reporting that a light bar and six LED lights were stolen from a truck while parked behind the Civic Center.

September 19

It was at 10:28 a.m. when RCMP were called by a complainant reporting that someone attempted to steal their light bar from their truck bumper. The complainant noted that when the lights did not come on, they inspected why and observed that the wires were cut. 

At 3:03 p.m. a complainant reported that someone stole Breeze Trucking’s flat deck, 4-door, 2013 white Ford F350 from a trucking yard.

September 20

A report came in just before 2 a.m. that someone had parked a vehicle with the lights on by the complainant’s house on 50 Street. The person was reportedly walking around with jerry cans and individuals were spotted heading northbound on foot.  One person with a hoodie and cargo pants with a backpack.  Members attended location and arrested one female, who was released for court.

Just before 3 a.m. police responded to Highway 620 in Brazeau County and arrested a male who’d been breaking into vehicles in the area. The male was subsequently charged with driving offences.
