Recreational opportunities for local seniors will be highlighted at Red Deer’s Collicutt Centre next month.

City officials say seniors are being invited to a Seniors Fair  at the Collicutt Centre on October 1 to learn more about the recreational and leisure activities available to them, with city staff on hand to answer any questions and share information about those programs and the facilities that will host them.

The date coincides with the United Nations International Day of Older Persons and is being held in conjunction with Seniors Service Providers Interagency (SSPI) which will offer guests an opportunity to meet staff from several agencies, organizations and government departments who care for the well-being of local seniors.

“The City of Red Deer offers a wide variety of recreation services for all levels, abilities and interests” says Barb McKee, Recreation Superintendent, City of Red Deer, in a press release. “By highlighting programs and activities available to seniors, we hope to encourage older Red Deerians to stay healthy, active and connected.”
