Stewart, Gill earn RDC Athlete of the Week honours

Red Deer College Athletics is proud to announce their initial Boston Pizza Athletes of the Week for the 2018-19 season.

Jill Stewart – Queens Cross Country Running
Hometown – Red Deer
Occupational and Physical Therapist Assistant Diploma (3rd year)

Stewart had a tremendous performance to kick off the 2018 – 19 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Cross Country Running season at Running Room Grand Prix #1. The third-year student-athlete (Occupational & Physical Therapist Assistant Diploma) impressively completed the 6 km race in top spot among ACAC female runners (24:33) and helped lead the Red Deer College Queens to a first place finish as a team.

Theoren Gill – Kings Soccer
Hometown – Red Deer
Bachelor of Education Elementary (3rd year)

Gill was a force in the Red Deer College Kings’ 6 – 0 victory over the Ambrose University Lions this past weekend. The third-year midfielder’s leadership skills were evident, positively reinforcing Head Coach Wade Groenewegen’s game plan to his teammates. Gill, a Bachelor of Education Elementary student, contributed two goals in the win.
