FCC helps drive away hunger at Aspen Heights

Sep 7, 2018 | 11:51 AM

The breakfast program at Aspen Heights Elementary has received a helping hand.

Farm Credit Canada presented the school with a cheque Friday morning for $1000 as part of their national Drive Away Hunger campaign.

“Each morning we provide breakfast for between 30 to 40 students. We have hard boiled, fruit, vegetables, all kinds of things,” Aspen Heights principal Braden Kilpatrick explained about their program.

“It’s a good opportunity for them to have something to eat, because without having a full stomach it’s difficult to learn. So it’s invaluable to our school. It just gives them a good start to the day.”
