City, transit union reach new deal

Red Deer City Council has accepted and ratified a new three year collective agreement with the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 1374.

ATU members ratified the agreement on August 19. The agreement is in effect from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020.

Officials say the two parties met over eight days of bargaining and that negotiations were conducted in a “respectful and productive manner. “

The new agreement will provide annual wage adjustments of 1 per cent in 2018 and 2019, and 2 per cent in 2020.
