THEFT FROM VEHICLE, SCAM INVOLVING ITUNES CARDS

Drayton Valley RCMP say on August 23 at 8:49 a.m. on 45 Avenue a welding truck was parked on the street and the next morning the complainant noted that someone had broken into the cabinets. Five levels, one grinder, two Dewalt Flex Volt wireless grinders, die grinder and three pipe stands stolen.

At 2:13 p.m. on  49 Street a complainant reported  falling victim to phone solicitation involving ITunes gift cards. A total of $1600 purchased.

ATTEMPTED BREAK IN TO VEHICLE, MAIL BOX STOLEN

On August 24 at 2:55 a.m. on 44 Avenue a complainant reported observing a male and female attempting to break into their vehicle. Video surveillance obtained. Members attended, suspects were gone upon their arrival. Suspects known to police.

At 1:20 p.m. in Brazeau County a report of theft of copper wire from lease site.

At 6:09 p.m. on Range Road 85  and Highway 621 a report came in of the theft of a post office box. Complainant advised that they had observed a male with a skid steer parked in front of the mail box. When they drove by later on, the mailbox was missing.  Reported to Canada Post security.

HUNDRED OF CIGARRETES SEIZED

On August 25 at 11:49 p.m. in Brazeau County members on patrol initiated a traffic stop near the cemetery. Located approximately 200 cigarette’s in plastic zip lock bag in plain view.  No tax markings or stamps. Cigarettes seized. Driver warned about potential charges.

ONE ARRESTED FOR IMPAIRED DRIVING

On August 26 at 2:06 a.m. at OCT a report came in of a vehicle stunting out in front of OCT. Members initiated a traffic stop, driver arrested for impaired driving. 

THEFT OF COPPER WIRE

On August 27 at 2:21 p.m. in Brazeau County a report came in of a theft of copper wire from a lease site. 

MAN ARRESTED IN POSSESSION OF METH, SCAMMER STRIKES

On August 28 at 4:02 a.m. at the Super 8 Motel a report of an attempted theft of quad. Suspects in a white truck. Took off when noticed.

At 8:26 a.m. on  46 Avenue a report came in of a male in a field yelling and swearing.  Members attended and located male, 40 year old Jeremy Lockhart, who was subsequently arrested on 8 outstanding warrants and possession of Methamphetamine.

At 5:34 p.m. in Drayton Valley a complainant reported receiving a phone call from someone who identified themselves as a police officer asking for google play gift cards. Complainant was told that if they did not send them a warrant would be issued for their arrest.  Complainant obtained $3500 worth of gift cards.  Members of the public are advised that these are scams, the CRA and Police will not accept gift cards as payment.

ASSAULT WITH BEAR MACE, THEFT FROM VEHICLE, WOMAN ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY

On August 29 at 2:00 a.m. at the Coach Motel a report was received of an assault with bear mace. Two victims, one had been bear maced, the other had ben hit by a male. Neither victim would provide a statement and did not wish police to pursue any charges.

At 6:32 a.m. at the Westwood Inn a report came in of a theft from a vehicle. Complainant reported that their locked black Chevrolet 3500 dually truck was parked in the parking lot of the Westwood Inn. When they got into the truck this morning they observed that the dash had been ripped out and the stereo stolen along with credit cards.  

At 2:56 p.m. on Highway 620 a report came in of a stolen vehicle on the right hand side of the road. Members attended and located the vehicle with suspect inside. Female was arrested for possession of stolen property.
