Nearly a dozen unauthorized products seized from Drayton Valley store

Health Canada has seized nearly a dozen unauthorized products from a Drayton Valley health food store that may pose serious health risks.

The 11 products sold from Health Vitality Foods include vitamins, decongestants, dietary and  workout supplements. The products were labelled to contain various ingredients, including prescription drugs and controlled substances.

Some of the products contained androstenediol, an anabolic steroid and ephedrine/ephedra, a drug and stimulant.

The list of products found to pose a serious risk to one’s health are:

• Androtechnologies DHEA
• Dust Extreme Pineapple Mango
• Ephedrine Hydrochloride
• High Potency 4-AD
• High Potency Vitamin D3
• Highest Potency Vitamin D3
• Lipo-Cuts Hardcore
• Muscle Systems 1-AD
• Prime Nutrition Yohimbine
• The Ultimate hCG Weight Loss Solution
• Vita Plus D.H.E.A.

Anyone who purchased or used these products are advised to stop using them and to contact a health care professional if they have any health concerns.

Health Canada says additional actions will be taken if further unauthorized products or suppliers are identified.
